E-Commerce, auch eCommerce ist der verkürzte Begriff für Electronic Commerce. Das Ganze umfasst den Internethandel oder auch Onlinehandel und bezeichnet vorrangig Verkaufsvorgänge via Internet oder anderweitigen Datenfernübertragungen.

Zum eCommerce werden mittlerweile nicht mehr nur der Verkauf- und Kaufprozess von Waren im Internet, sondern auch Leistungen wie z.B. Kundenservice, Online-Gaming, Online-Dating und sogar Online-Banking gezählt. Grundsätzlich also Leistung gegen Bezahlung im Online-Handel.
